Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a vital role in shaping students’ character and values. However, in practice, PAI learning is often perceived as monotonous and lacking active student involvement, which leads to low academic performance. This condition contradicts the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, which promotes active, enjoyable, and student-centered learning. To address this issue, innovative learning media are needed to increase student interest and participation. One potential solution is Kahoot, an interactive quiz platform that presents questions competitively and in real-time, helping to create a more engaging and effective learning environment. This study aims to examine the influence of using Kahoot media on the success of PAI learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo.
This study employed a descriptive quantitative correlational approach. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to 70 eleventh-grade students. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 through a series of statistical tests, including normality test, linearity test, simple linear regression, t-test, and the coefficient of determination. These tests were used to ensure that the variables met statistical assumptions and to identify the significance of the influence between variables.
The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and had a linear relationship. The regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.014 (< 0.05) and a t-count of 7.421 (> t-table value of 1.666), indicating a significant influence of Kahoot usage on PAI learning success. The determination coefficient of 0.747 means that 74,7% of the variation in learning achievement is influenced by Kahoot, while the remaining 25,3% is affected by other factors. It can be concluded that Kahoot is an effective educational tool to enhance learning outcomes, especially in Islamic Religious Education within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.
