The nursing problem that often occurs in patients with hypertension is decreased cardiac output. One method used to overcome the problem of decreased cardiac output is pharmacological and non-pharmacological. A non-pharmacological technique to lower blood pressure in patients with reduced cardiac output is self-healing mindfulness. The objective of this final scientific work is to provide nursing care to hypertensive patients with reduced cardiac output.
Nursing care was provided in the inpatient ward of the Poncol Community Health Center for 4 weeks during 6 meetings, starting on October 6-27, 2020. The method used was the nursing process approach, starting with the assessment process, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of nursing.
The assessment results obtained subjective data, namely the client said that during the assessment, they felt dizzy, had neck pain, nausea, palpitations, fatigue, and looked pale. One of the non-pharmacological nursing interventions performed to overcome the problem of decreased cardiac output was self-healing mindfulness to lower blood pressure. The technique was performed over 4 weeks during 6 sessions, and the results were effective in lowering the patient's blood pressure from 180/100 mmHg in the first session to 150/82 mmHg.
Nursing care for hypertensive patients with reduced cardiac output is expected to provide patients and their families with an understanding of how to lower blood pressure, thereby reducing nursing issues related to reduced cardiac output.
