Abstract

ABSTRACT
The Relationship between Emotional Maturity and
Compliance among High School Students (SMA)
at Ma'had Al-Muqoddasah Li Tahfizhil Qur'an
Ponorogo
By: Panuju

Life as a student in an Islamic boarding school requires a high level of compliance with rules as part of character and moral development. However, in practice, violations of rules related to emotional instability are often encountered. This condition has sparked interest in examining the internal psychological factors that influence student compliance, particularly emotional maturity. This study aims to determine the level of emotional maturity and compliance of high school students at Ma'had Al-Muqoddasah Li Tahfizhil Qur'an Ponorogo, as well as to examine the relationship between emotional maturity and student compliance.
This study uses a correlational quantitative approach. The research population consisted of 303 high school students, with a sample of 76 students determined using random sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through a Likert scale questionnaire. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.856 for the emotional maturity scale and 0.904 for the obedience scale. Data analysis was performed using Karl Pearson's Product Moment correlation technique with the help of the IBM SPSS Statistics 27 for Windows program.
The results of the study indicate that the level of emotional maturity of the students is in the moderate category at 74%, and the level of compliance of the students is also in the moderate category at 70%. Correlation analysis shows a positive and significant relationship between emotional maturity and student compliance, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.568 and a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that the higher the level of emotional maturity of students, the higher their level of compliance.
