Abstract

ABSTRACT
Poor sleep quality can be a risk factor for various chronic diseases, including hypertension. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure among residents of Dukuh Juron, Sumberdukun Village, Ngariboyo District, Magetan Regency. This research is important to provide insight into sleep quality and its relationship to blood pressure. This study used a cross-sectional design. The study population was 143 residents, with a sample of 80 respondents. The instruments used were the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire, as well as a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents (61.3%) had good sleep quality. However, a large proportion (47.5%) of respondents had blood pressure conditions categorized as hypertension. Based on the Chi-Square analysis, the p-value was 0.349, which is greater than 0.05 (α). This indicates that there is no statistically significant relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure conditions. This may be due to other factors that also influence blood pressure, such as age, gender, and physical activity.
