HUBUNGAN LAMA PAPARAN LAYAR LAPTOP DENGAN TINGKAT ASTENOPIA PADA MAHASISWA TEKNIK INFORMATIKA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH PONOROGO

Prolonged laptop use can cause asthenopia, which refers to a group of eye complaints resulting from continuous visual activity. Informatics Engineering students have academic activities that involve extensive laptop use, making them potentially susceptible to asthenopia. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the duration of laptop screen exposure and the level of asthenopia among Informatics Engineering students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo.
This study used a quantitative correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 61 students selected using total sampling. The research instruments included a questionnaire on the duration of laptop screen exposure and the Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q). Data were analyzed using the Fisher-Freeman-Halton Exact Test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
A total of 34 respondents (55.7%) used laptops for >4 hours/day, and 35 respondents (57.4%) experienced asthenopia. The Fisher-Freeman-Halton Exact Test showed a p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the duration of laptop screen exposure and the level of asthenopia.
There was a significant relationship between the duration of laptop screen exposure and the level of asthenopia among Informatics Engineering students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo.
