Abstract

The buying and selling process on online shopping sites does go through several important stages to ensure that the transaction runs smoothly and safely for both parties, namely the seller and the buyer. The following is a summary of these stages:
1) Offer: Sellers or businesses offer the goods or services they sell. Product-related information must be clearly conveyed to prospective buyers, including specifications and prices. 2) Acceptance: The buyer accepts the offer made by the seller, signalling that they agree to purchase the goods or services based on the information provided. 3) Payment: After approval, the buyer makes payment according to the agreement that has been reached. The payment system used can vary, such as bank transfer, payment via app, or credit card. 4) Shipping: Once the payment is confirmed, the seller dispatches the goods to the buyer. At this stage, the buyer has the right to receive the goods as paid for. However, problems can arise at the bidding stage, especially if there are differences in the specifications of the products offered and those expected by consumers. For example, if the business does not explain in detail the size standards or other specifications, this may cause dissatisfaction or loss to the buyer. In cases where there is a loss to the consumer due to a mismatch in product specifications or information, the business is responsible for reimbursing all costs incurred by the consumer. This includes reimbursement of shipping costs and refund of the price of goods that are not in accordance with the agreed upon agreement. This is a form of consumer protection regulated in the law of electronic commerce and transactions.
