The problem of non-compliance often occurs in the treatment of chronic diseases that require long-term treatment such as hypertension. Psychosocial status in patients with hypertension was needed because patients with hypertension need psychological and social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between psychosocial status and compliance in taking medication in patients with hypertension at the Outpatient Polyclinic of Lembeyan Public Health Center, Magetan Regency. The design of this study was descriptive correlational. The population in this study were all hypertensive patients at the Outpatient Polyclinic of Lembeyan Public Health Center, Magetan Regency at the time of the study and also a sample of 60 people using the total sampling technique. The variables of this study were psychosocial status and compliance in taking medication. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistical test used was Rank Spearman. The results showed that almost half of the respondents had good psychosocial status (38,3%), almost half of the respondents had low medication adherence (41,7%). The results of the data analysis obtained a p-value = 0,000, which means that there was a relationship between psychosocial status and medication adherence in patients with hypertension at the Outpatient Polyclinic of the Lembeyan Health Center, Magetan Regency. The better the psychosocial status of hypertensive patients, the higher their medication compliance will be, but there are several external factors that influence this, so that in this study, low medication compliance was found, including family support and employment status.
