Abstract
Analysis of the Role of Facebook Media in the Campaign of Regional Head Candidates for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Ponorogo Regency The role of digital media is very important in today's modern society. One of the main trends in digital media today is social media. Social media is media that allows users to interact and create content online with the continued development of social media through Facebook.This research aims to explore the extent of the role of social media, especially Facebook, in the campaign for the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in Ponorogo Regency.This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, which aims to present symptoms, facts and events systematically and accurately. This method not only describes the characteristics of the research, but also analyzes its truth based on the data collected. Researchers used three data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis was carried out based on interview results, which were then interpreted. In this research, there were 6 informants, all of whom were active Facebook users.In this research, the sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling method using 1 person as an informant from the success team for candidate pair 01, 1 person from the success team for candidate pair 02 and 4 ordinary informants, namely the general public who use Facebook accounts. From the results of the descriptive analysis, 2 (two) themes were obtained which were the result of the role of Facebook social media in the 2024 Regional Election Campaign in Ponorogo Regency.
