Abstract
Infectious diseases are the diseases that most often attack children.. Children who frequently suffer from infectious diseases are at risk of experiencing stunting, where stunting is a condition of failure to grow in children due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1000 days of life. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting in the UPTD work area of the Kismantoro Community Health Center. This research is a quantitative research, correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The total sample was 86 young people in Kismantoro sub-district. The variables for this research are infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting. We used purposive sampling techniques and chi-square statistical tests. Univariate results showed that 77.9 % of respondents frequently suffered from infectious diseases, and 27.9 % of respondents experienced stunting. The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a p-value of < 0,001, which means less than 0.05, so the conclusion is that there is a relationship between infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting in the UPTD work area of the Kismantoro Community Health Center. ISPA and diarrhea are still the top diseases that often attack toddlers. Parents should pay more attention to their child's health status by trying to routinely provide exclusive breastfeeding and provide complementary feeding with balanced nutrition, which can also prevent stunting..
