Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY BEHAVIOR IN PREVENTING DECUBITUS WITH THE INCIDENCE OF DECUBITUS IN CEREBRO VASCULAR ACCIDENT PATIENTS IN THE DARWIS ROOM MUHAMMADIYAH PONOROGO HOSPITAL

Decubitus are a serious problem because they slow the healing process, especially in CVA patients. They can be prevented if families are directly involved in preventing decubitus in bedridden CVA patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the Relationship Between Family Behavior In Preventing Decubitus With The Incidence Of Decubitus In Cerebro vascular Accident Patients In The Darwis Room Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital
This study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all families caring for CVA patients in the Darwis Room, Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital from January to December 2024, totaling 586. The sample size was 44 families caring for patients. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observation sheets, and were analyzed using the Chi-Square Test with a significance level of 0.05.
The results showed that 24 respondents (54.5%) of the patient's families exhibited positive behaviors in preventing dekubitus, while 27 respondents (61.4%) did not experience decubitus. The Chi-Square data analysis yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-sided) value of 0.008, meaning it is less than α=0.05. Therefore, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.
Conclusion: There is the Relationship Between Family Behavior In Preventing Decubitus With The Incidence Of Decubitus In Cerebro vascular Accident Patients In The Darwis Room, Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital 2025.
This study recommends that the Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital involve families in decubitus prevention and maintain positive behaviors in preventing decubitus to accelerate patient recovery.
