The impact of anxiety, if not managed properly, can result in physical and psychological changes. Pharmacological treatment for anxiety can lead to dependency. Therefore, to reduce anxiety, health education can be used. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of providing education on anxiety levels in patients undergoing pre-Cesarean sections at Darmayu HOSPITAL, Ponorogo.

This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 individuals experiencing pre-Cesarean section anxiety using a sampling technique with sampling criteria and data collection using the APAIS questionnaire. Health education was provided 2 hours before the cesarean section and 10 minutes before entering the operating room.

The results showed that the average anxiety level before the health education was 2.40, while the average anxiety level after the health education was 1.40. This suggests a difference in anxiety levels in pre-cesarean section patients before and after health education. The p-value was -3.874, indicating a value of <0.05.

Health education can reduce anxiety in pre-cesarean section patients.
