Abstract
Attachment is a specific behavior that reflects an individual's drive and desire to establish closeness with others and experience emotional satisfaction within that relationship. The aim of this study is to provide nursing care to postpartum patients who are at risk of experiencing disturbances in the attachment process.
This research is descriptive in nature with a case study approach, conducted in the Melati ward of Darmayu Hospital, Ponorogo, from April 10 to 12, 2025. Data was collected through the nursing care approach, including anamnesis, physical examination, measurement, and periodic observation.
Based on the assessment results, it was found that Mrs. R was at risk of impaired attachment due to not rooming-in with her baby for three days. The nursing intervention provided included attachment promotion strategies. Upon evaluation, the risk of impaired attachment had decreased, and Mrs. R was expected to establish optimal bonding with her baby.
In conclusion, appropriate nursing care and effective collaboration with the medical team can resolve most patient issues through accurate information sharing and education. This study is recommended as a reference, especially for nursing care in postpartum mothers at risk of attachment disorders.
