NURSING CARE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH DISORDERS OF REST
ACTIVITIES WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF FATIGUE

Fatigue in the elderly has a significant impact on quality of life, especially if
accompanied by disruption of activity and rest. Fatigue is the body's inability to
restore energy even after resting. This study aims to provide an overview of nursing
care for elderly people with fatigue nursing problems at UPT PSTW Magetan.
The nursing problem identified was fatigue related to sleep disorders,
characterized by difficulty sleeping at night, never taking a nap, feeling tired, and
pain when doing activities. This condition disrupts the daily activities of the elderly
and reduces their enthusiasm and independence.
The nursing action plan carried out includes identifying disorders of body
function, monitoring sleep patterns and fatigue during activities, providing passive
and/or active range of motion exercises, as well as education regarding gradual
activities. The intervention is adapted to the Indonesian Nursing Intervention
Standards (SIKI), with the hope of increasing energy, improving rest patterns, and
increasing the ability to carry out daily activities. Evaluation shows increased
energy, decreased complaints of fatigue, and improved sleep patterns. These results
show the importance of appropriate nursing interventions in dealing with fatigue
in the elderly.
Nursing care for the elderly with fatigue nursing problems is expected to be a
reflection of nurses, especially in handling patients who experience fatigue
problems.
