Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on the learning outcomes of Akidah Akhlak subject among the eighth-grade students of MTsN 5 Magetan. The research background highlights the importance of balancing cognitive, emotional, and spiritual aspects to support holistic learning achievements, particularly in religious subjects that emphasize moral and character formation.
This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal-comparative ex post facto design. The population consisted of 386 eighth-grade students, while 195 students were selected as the sample through cluster sampling technique. The independent variables were emotional intelligence (X1) and spiritual intelligence (X2), while the dependent variable was learning outcomes in Akidah Akhlak (Y). The instruments used were a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure emotional and spiritual intelligence, and students’ report card scores to measure learning outcomes.
The results of data analysis revealed that both emotional and spiritual intelligence significantly influence learning outcomes, both individually and simultaneously. In other words, students with higher levels of emotional and spiritual intelligence tend to achieve better results in Akidah Akhlak subject. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects into learning strategies to cultivate students who excel academically while also possessing strong character.
