Hyperuricemia is a condition characterized by elevated uric acid levels in the blood, commonly experienced by the elderly, which may lead to joint pain and serious complications. Family support is suspected to be an important factor influencing dietary compliance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and adherence to a low-purine diet among hyperuricemia patients in the working area of Ngrandu Public Health Center, Kauman,Ponorogo.

This research employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross- sectional approach. The sample consisted of 54 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were family support and low-purine diet adherence questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho test. The results showed that most respondents received high family support and had good adherence to the low-purine diet. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between family support and adherence to a low-purine diet in hyperuricemia patients (p < 0.05).
