Abstract

Anita Salma 2025. “IMPLEMENTATION OF QUICK RESPONSE CODE INDONESIAN STANDARD (QRIS) IN SHARIA FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR MSMEs (UMKM) ACTORS AT LA TANSA SPORT STORE
PONOROGO". Undergraduate Thesis. Sharia Economics Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Supervisors:(1) Dr. Sri Hartono, S.E., M.M. (2) Adib Khusnul Rois, S.Pd.I., M.E.

The development of digital financial technology has significantly transformed payment systems, including in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs/UMKM) sector. The Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), issued by Bank Indonesia, is a non-cash payment instrument designed to simplify digital transactions through a single, universal QR code. In the context of Islamic finance, QRIS implementation needs to be examined to ensure it aligns with Islamic commercial principles such as the prohibition of riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (speculation). This study focuses on how QRIS is implemented within Islamic financial services for MSME actors, specifically at La Tansa Sport Store Ponorogo. The aim of this research is to analyze QRIS implementation from a sharia perspective, explore business owners’ and customers’ perceptions, and identify obstacles and solutions during its implementation process.
This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research was conducted at La Tansa Sport Store Ponorogo, with research subjects including business owners (employees), customers, and relevant parties knowledgeable about QRIS usage in business operations. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation.
The results of the study show that QRIS has been successfully implemented in Islamic financial services at La Tansa Sport Store, while upholding Islamic values in transactions. QRIS provides ease, efficiency, and transparency in the payment process and is positively received by both business actors and customers. Several challenges were identified, such as low digital literacy and unstable internet connection, but these have been addressed through education and the provision of supporting infrastructure. The conclusion of this study is that QRIS can serve as an effective and sharia-compliant digital financial instrument for MSMEs/UMKM, provided it is supported by social readiness, proper education, and strong commitment from business actors to uphold Islamic financial principles.
