Abstract

Indonesia possesses an extraordinary cultural richness however, globalization challenges and the lack of educational media have caused the younger generation, especially Indonesian children living abroad, to be less familiar with their own culture. This study aims to develop the mobile application PINUS (Pustaka Nusantara) as a medium for introducing Indonesian culture to students of Sanggar Bimbingan (SB) Ampang in Malaysia. The development process employed the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research focused on the first three stages, namely needs analysis, media design, and initial development. The application was developed using the Kodular platform, featuring modules via web viewer, educational videos curated from YouTube, interactive quizzes from Kahoot, cultural news via web viewer, and a child-friendly interface. Validation results from media and material experts indicated that the application achieved a “very feasible” rating with a score of 90%. A limited trial involving one teacher and two students as end users yielded a feasibility score of 84%. The application is expected to serve as an effective, engaging, and relevant educational solution for strengthening the cultural identity of Indonesian children living abroad.
