Abstract

ABSTRACK
Most students certainly have procrastinated work or assignments. Maybe
some students will include reason why they postpone the work, for example
working on their priorities first. However, some students actually do it on
purpose. Where they postpone a job or task because they are lazy. This research
focuses on the psychology of students from SMA Negeri 1 Batuatas who
experience academic procrastination. The purpose aim of this research is to
determine the psychology and factors that cause academic procrastination at
SMA Negeri 1 Batuatas, Batuatas district, sound Buton Regency.
The type of method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative
method, which is a method that researchers use to examine the condition of
natural objects, where the researcher acts as a key instrument. Data collection
techniques were carried out using a combination or triangulation method.
Collecting data by observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was
carried out through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.
The results of the research found that the procrastination experienced by
students from SMA Negeri 1 Batuatas was quite severe, thus trigggering academic
procrastination, and the factors that caused academic procrastination of students
from SMA Negeri 1 Batuatas Sulawesi were internal and external factors which
included laziness and environmental conditions.
