IMPLEMENTATION OF PASSIVE RANGE OF MOTION (ROM) EXERCISES TO IMPROVE MUSCLE STRENGTH IN NON-HEMORRHAGIC STROKE PATIENTS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF PHYSICAL MOBILITY IMPAIRMENT
AT MUHAMMADIYAH HOSPITAL, PONOROGO

Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a type of stroke that occurs due to a blockage in a blood vessel in the brain. Blood supply to the brain is disrupted due to atherosclerosis or a blood clot. The blockage occurs along the arteries leading to the brain. Damage to brain cells can cause sensory and cognitive impairment. This disorder suddenly causes symptoms such as paralysis on one side of the face or limbs, slurred speech, slurred speech, changes in consciousness, visual disturbances, and others. This can cause problems for patients, namely impaired physical mobility. This study aims to provide nursing care to patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke who have problems with physical mobility.
Nursing care for one non-hemorrhagic stroke patient was carried out in the K.H Ahmad Dahlan room at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital for 5 days from July 31, 2025 to August 4, 2025. The method used was the nursing process approach.
The assessment revealed that the patient complained of weakness and heaviness in the left arm and leg when moved. Nursing interventions were performed to increase muscle strength by providing passive range of motion (ROM) exercises. After 5 days of nursing interventions, results showed increased muscle strength.
Nursing care for clients with physical mobility impairments is expected to provide guidance for families and patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke so they can implement passive Range of Motion (ROM) exercises to increase muscle strength.
