Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMPLIANCE WITH ANTENATAL CARE VISITS AND THE INCIDENCE OF ANEMIA IN PREGNANT WOMEN
In the working area of the Slahung Community Health Center, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency
By: Nawang Pramesthi Surya Manggali
This study was motivated by the low compliance of pregnant women in attending Antenatal Care (ANC) visits, which remains a serious problem because it affects the health of mothers and fetuses. The impact is an increase in the incidence of anemia in pregnant women who require special treatment. Approximately 40 pregnant women in their third trimester were recorded as having anemia, indicating that anemia remains a significant health problem in late pregnancy.
Method This study used a quantitative design with a correlative approach. Data collection was conducted through observation and direct visits to health facilities. Data analysis included editing, coding, data entry, cleaning, and statistical testing using the fisher’s Eact test
The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the respondents include age 26–30, which represents the majority of the total respondents, namely 14 (35.0%), with the occupation of housewife representing the majority of the total respondents, namely 25 (62.5%). The education level in this study was high school, with 36 respondents (90.0%) out of a total of 40 respondents. And multiparous parity, which represents the majority of the total respondents, namely 27 (67.5%), ANC compliance among pregnant women at the Slahung Community Health Center, most of whom are non-compliant, 26 people (65.0%) with anemia, 33 people (82.5%).
Statistical test results, fisher’s Eact test value, complete statistical value report. test shows coefficient p value 0,000 (p < 0.05). The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between ANC compliance and the incidence of anemia. The results of the test analysis show a strong relationship between the level of ANC compliance and the incidence of anemia. The form of this relationship is a association, where a higher level of ANC compliance is associated with a lower incidence of anemia.
The conclusion of this study should provide information about the importance of iron supplementation during pregnancy, how to consume it, the amount, and empowering the community to utilize available land, such as by planting vegetables, and conveying the message that nutritious food does not have to be expensive.
