Ineffective breast milk production is a common problem during the postpartum period, which can negatively impact breastfeeding and infant health. Efforts to increase breast milk production continue to be developed, one of which is the use of natural ingredients such as mung bean extract. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of mung bean extract on increasing breast milk production in postpartum patients with ineffective breastfeeding.
The method used was a case study with a nursing care approach that included assessment, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation. The intervention provided was 250 ml of mung bean juice twice daily, accompanied by education on correct breastfeeding techniques, stress management, and diet for 5 days. The case study was conducted at RSUM Ponorogo, in the Siti Walidah Ward. The administration of mung bean juice was proven to have a significant effect on increasing breast milk production in postpartum patients with ineffective breastfeeding problems. Mung bean juice can be considered as an alternative, safe and natural non-pharmacological intervention to support successful breastfeeding.
