Character education in the digital era faces various challenges, including bullying, declining communication ethics, and the misuse of technology by students. These conditions highlight the need to strengthen character education that is relevant to technological advancement. Qur'an Surah Luqman verses 13–19 contain essential character values encompassing tawhid (belief in the Oneness of Allah), responsibility and moral awareness, worship, social responsibility, and proper conduct (adab) in daily life. This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education based on the values of Qur'an Surah Luqman verses 13–19 at SMP Negeri 13 Madiun as a Google Reference School. The analysis focuses on the strategies for internalizing these values, the supporting and inhibiting factors, and their impact on students' character development.
This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, the vice principal for student affairs, homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation.
The findings of this study show that the values of QS. Luqman verses 13–19 are not limited to religious understanding but are brought to life through role modeling, habituation, and collaboration within the school environment, thereby strengthening students’ religious character, discipline, and sense of responsibility.
