Child marriage remains a social and legal issue in East Java, including Trenggalek Regency. The high rate of child marriage is caused by various factors, including low levels of education, economic conditions, social and cultural factors, religious understanding, and pregnancy outside of marriage. The Trenggalek Regency Government has undertaken preventive efforts through the Zero Child Marriage Village Program by tightening marriage procedures for children under the age of 19. This study aims to identify the factors contributing to the high rate of child marriage and to analyze the role of the Trenggalek Religious Court in preventing child marriage. This study employs an empirical legal research method, with data collected through observation and interviews.
