THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THIRD-TRIMESTER PREGNANT WOMEN'S KNOWLEDGE LEVEL ABOUT ANEMIA AND ADHERENCE TO FE TABLET CONSUMPTION

Anemia in third-trimester pregnancy increases labor complication risks, making maternal knowledge vital for shaping health behaviors and iron (Fe) tablet adherence. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge levels regarding anemia and Fe tablet adherence among third-trimester pregnant women at Tegalombo Public Health Center, Pacitan Regency.
Using a cross-sectional correlational design, 35 respondents were selected through total sampling. Knowledge was assessed via a Guttman scale questionnaire, and adherence was measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8). Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test (α = 0.05).
Most respondents had good knowledge 28 respondents (80%), while (2 respondents,6%) had low knowledge. Regarding adherence, (14 respondents, 40%) showed moderate adherence, and (9 respondents, 26%) showed low adherence. The Spearman Rank test revealed a statistically significant correlation (p value = 0.000, p < 0.05), rejecting H0 and accepting H1, there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of third-trimester pregnant women about anemia and their compliance with taking Fe tablets in the Working Area of Tegalombo Community Health Center.
Based on the results of this study, it is expected that Tegalombo Community Health Center and healthcare workers provide education on anemia in pregnant women, its causes, and its consequences during childbirth, as nearly half of the third-trimester pregnant women still lack understanding of these aspects
