Abstract
The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program is a government initiative aimed at improving the nutritional and health status of the community. Meeting optimal nutritional needs is expected to support the overall physical and mental health of beneficiary families. This study aims to determine the relationship between overall physical health and overall mental health among families receiving the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at MI Al-Jihad Karanggebang, Jetis, Ponorogo.
This study employed a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 104 respondents was selected using the proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires assessing overall physical health and overall mental health, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
The results indicate that the majority of respondents fell into the "good" category for both overall physical health and overall mental health. Spearman Rank analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between overall physical health and overall mental health among families receiving the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
The findings indicate that better overall physical health is associated with better overall mental health among families participating in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program. These results suggest that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program has the potential to support the overall mental health of families by improving their overall physical health.
