Abstract
The practice of consuming iron-folic acid (IFA) tablets among adolescent girls remains a challenge in anemia prevention efforts. Self-efficacy is hypothesized to be a factor influencing this behavior. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and IFA tablet consumption behavior among adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 1 Ponorogo.
This study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 229 respondents was selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) questionnaire and a questionnaire regarding IFA tablet consumption behavior. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
The results showed that 90.0% of respondents possessed high self-efficacy, and 76.9% demonstrated highly compliant IFA tablet consumption behavior. The Spearman Rank test yielded a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.555 with p < 0.001, indicating a positive relationship of moderate strength between self-efficacy and IFA tablet consumption behavior.
The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and IFA tablet consumption behavior among adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 1 Ponorogo. High self-efficacy needs to be maintained and strengthened to support adolescent girls' adherence to taking iron-folic acid (TTD) supplements.
