Abstract

This study purpose to analysis the implementation of vegetable market day activity as a strategy for stimulating expressive and productive language abilities of early childhood Group A students at KB Al-Barokah Purwantoro. A qualitative approach was employed using a single case study design conducted over two weeks. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal and classroom teacher, participatory observation, and documentation. Analysis followed Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model, with data validity tested through source and technique triangulation.
Findings indicate that activity planning was integrated into daily lesson plans (RPPH) with an explicit vegetable theme and language targets. Implementation used role-play of buying and selling with real Rp2,000 denomination money, through which children practiced naming vegetables, expressing desires, and communicating actively in a real context. Following routine participation, the principal and classroom teacher reported perceived development across four dimensions: vocabulary expansion, increased speaking confidence, narrative ability, and descriptive competence.
These findings suggest that vegetable market day holds potential as a contextual and meaningful model for stimulating expressive and productive language in early childhood, with the note that this conclusion is based on qualitative observation and informants' perception rather than standardized measurement, and that literacy stimulation through written labeling warrants further development
