Abstract
Merdiana Agnesia. 2023. Principal Leadership in Improving Discipline of Vocational High School Students Through Rewards & Punishment. Thesis, Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI), University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Advisors : (1) Dr. Afiful Ikhwan, M.Pd.I. (2) Dr. Aldo Redho Syam, M.Pd.I Keywords: Leadership, discipline, reward & punishment This study aims to describe the role, forms and supporting and inhibiting factors of the Principal in improving the discipline of SMK students through reward & punishment. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation and documentation as well as by data analysis which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and finding conclusions. . The results of the study describe (1) the role of the principal in instilling discipline in students at Muhammadiyah 5 Purwantoro Vocational School, namely by being a role model by example, making clear rules, being firm with students who violate school rules, and also working with both parents student. (2) Forms of instilling discipline in students Principals apply reward & punishment (3) Factors that support the implementation of reward & punishment are teachers and employees at Muhammadiyah 5 Purwantoro Vocational School and collaboration between student guardians and other teachers. While the inhibiting factor is due to the lack of awareness or motivation from students and the friendship environment.
