Abstract
The increasing number of cases of Covid-19 causes anxiety for everyone, not worrying about the elderly. Family support plays an important role in the framework and anxiety in the elderly. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and elderly anxiety in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in Kepolorejo Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. The design of this research is correlation with cross sectional approach. Elderly population 1615 respondents. The number of samples is 94 respondents by means of purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Chi square test with a significance level of <0.05. The results of research on 94 respondents showed that respondents with positive support were 49 (52.1%) and negative support were 45 respondents (47.9%). While 38 respondents (40.4%) had mild anxiety, 23 respondents (24.5%) had moderate anxiety, and 33 respondents (35.1%) had severe anxiety. Based on the statistical test, the p value was 0.003 < 0.05, with cc 0.331, which means that there is a relationship between family support and the anxiety of the elderly in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in Kepolorejo Village, Magetan District, Magetan Regency. In the study, a small proportion of 10 respondents (20.4%) received positive family support with severe anxiety, 11 respondents (24.4%) received negative family support with mild anxiety. This happens because it is not from family support, the factor that is received, but also because of age because the older you get, the easier it is to experience anxiety. The results of the study are expected that families can provide positive family support to the elderly in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic so that they can relieve the anxiety felt by the elderly.
