THE EFFECT OF HYPERTENSION SELF MANAGEMENT EDUCATION (HSME) WITH BOOKLET ON FAMILY SELF MANAGEMENT BEHAVIOR
in Jetis Lor Village Nawangan District Pacitan Regency

Hypertension is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment, requiring direct patient involvement in its management, known as hypertension self-management. Hypertension Self-Management Education, targeting families, aims to increase family knowledge and support in self-care for hypertension patients, thereby improving their quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Hypertension Self-Management Education (HSME) on family self-management behavior in Jetis Lor Village, Nawangan District, Pacitan Regency.
This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was families with hypertension patients in Jetis Lor Village, using a purposive sampling technique, selecting 40 respondents. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test.
The results showed that before the Hypertension Self-Management Education (HSME) intervention, 22 respondents (55.5%) had adequate behavior, and only 4 respondents (10%) had good behavior. After the Hypertension Self-Management Education (HSME) intervention, 25 respondents (62.5%) had good behavior, and none had poor behavior.
The results of the statistical analysis of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, obtained results for p-value = 0.000, then it was found that the p value ≤ 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of Hypertension Self Management Education (HSME) with booklet on family self-management behavior in Jetis Lor Village.
