“NURSING CARE FOR POST OP APPENDICITIS PATIENTS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS RISK OF INFECTION”
(Case Study at RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo)

Appendicitis or appendicitis is a disease that occurs in a person's intestines. If the appendicitis is acute it is called appendicitis, appendicitis refers to inflammation of the appendix, which is a non-functioning sac located in the interior of the cecum. Symptoms that appear in appendicitis are pain, because appendicitis is caused by blockage of the lumen by hyperplasia of lymphoid follicles, fecaliths, foreign bodies, strictures due to fibrosis due to previous inflammation or neoplasm. This case study aims to provide nursing care for post-op appendicitis patients with nursing problems at risk of infection.
Nursing care for post-op appendicitis patients was carried out at RSU Muhammadiyah Ponorogo for 2 days and carried out at the patient's home for 2 days in September 2023. The method used was a nursing process approach.
The results of the study showed that the patient complained of pain in the lower right part of the abdomen, so an appendectomy was performed and a surgical scar was found in the lower right part of the abdomen. Nursing actions taken to overcome this problem include carrying out wound care and providing health education about independent wound care and signs of infection in wounds.
It is hoped that nursing care for post-op appendicitis patients with nursing problems of risk of infection will be an illustration for nurses, especially in handling patients after appendectomy surgery with wound care and education about independent wound care and signs of infection.
