THE RELATIONSHIP OF EATING HABITS WITH THE EVENT OF ANEMIA IN ADOLESCENT WOMEN AT MTs MUHAMMADIYAH 2 JENANGAN PONOROGO DISTRICT

Among the many health problems that occur in society, anemia is common in all countries, including Indonesia. Anemia can occur in various age phases, including adolescence. Anemia is caused by eating and drinking habits, namely skipping breakfast and drinking coffee and tea. This study aims to determine the relationship between eating habits and the incidence of anemia in adolescent women at MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Jenangan, Ponorogo Regency.

This research design uses corelation using a cross sectional approach, involving 74 respondents selected using proportional random sampling and data collection using questionnaires and Hb checks. Data analysis used Chi Square test with a significant value of p value <0.05.

The results showed that 19 respondents (47%) had bad eating habits and experienced anemia, while 29 respondents (58%) had good eating habits and did not experience anemia. Chi Square statistical test obtained p value (0.003) < α (0.05), indicating that there is a relationship between eating habits and the incidence of anemia in adolescent women at MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Jenangan, Ponorogo Regency.

It is hoped that the results of this research will increase the knowledge of adolescent women about anemia.
