Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a top priority for health service providers. Nurses must be able to carry out their roles well. Nurses have a responsibility to respect and protect patient rights through their function as advocates. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of nurses as advocates and satisfaction with patient services who received invasive actions in the inpatient room of Amal Sehat Hospital. This study is a quantitative study, correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 92 patients in the inpatient room. The variables were the role of nurses as advocates and patient satisfaction. Data were obtained through questionnaires filled out by respondents. Chi Square statistical test with SPSS. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the role of nurses as advocates and patient satisfaction who received invasive actions with a p-value of 0,000, which means it is greater than α (0.05). If the nursing services provided are getting better, it will increase patient satisfaction. Conversely, if the nursing services provided are of poor quality, the patient becomes dissatisfied. One way to increase patient and family satisfaction is by carrying out the role of nurse as an advocate well.
