Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a top priority for health service providers in hospitals. One of them is the application of Islamic spiritual guidance services to patients who are undergoing inpatient treatment as a strategy to increase patient satisfaction. The aim of this research is to determine the role of spiritual guidance officers (spirit team) at the Wonogiri Charity Health Hospital in carrying out their duties with patients who experience spiritual weakness due to the illness they are suffering from. This research is a quantitative research, correlational design and cross sectional approach. The population in this study was 92 patients in the inpatient room. Data was obtained through questionnaires filled in by respondents and analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. The research results showed that 48 (52.2%) respondents considered that Islamic spiritual guidance services were implemented well, 44 (47.8%) respondents were satisfied with the nursing services received and the results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between Islamic spiritual guidance services and patient satisfaction, as evidenced by a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The conclusion of this research is that good Islamic spiritual guidance services contribute positively to patient satisfaction. As a suggestion, the Amal Sehat Hospital is advised to increase supervision over the implementation of Islamic spiritual guidance and receive input from patients to further improve the standards of nursing services so that they can meet patient expectations.
