Abstract
This study aims to understand the role of parents in supporting the development of self-esteem of children with special needs in an inclusive school environment, especially in the inclusive kindergarten of Pesantren Anak Sholeh (PAS) Baitul Qur'an, Ponorogo. Self-Esteem is a very important element in the psychological development of children, especially in children with special needs who have challenges in social, emotional, and academic aspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that parents act as providers of emotional support, mentors, facilitators, and effective communicators in the process of child growth and development. This role is realized through mentoring in learning, providing motivation, providing supporting facilities, and emotional and spiritual guidance. In addition, it was found that parental support contributes significantly to children's self-confidence, courage, and self-awareness in facing the social environment. This study concludes that the active and consistent involvement of parents is a key factor in building healthy self-esteem in children with special needs.
