Quarter-life crisis (QLC) is a psychological phenomenon frequently experienced by individuals in their twenties, particularly final-year students navigating the transition to the professional world. Resilience is considered a key factor that may mitigate the impact of QLC. This study focuses on two main questions: whether a significant relationship exists between resilience and QLC, and the extent to which resilience influences QLC.
The objective of this research is to examine the presence and magnitude of the relationship and influence between resilience and quarter-life crisis among final-year students at Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo.
This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 150 respondents using purposive sampling. The instruments consisted of the Wagnild & Young Resilience Scale and a QLC scale based on Robbins & Wilner’s theoretical framework. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression tests via SPSS version 30.
The findings indicate a significant negative relationship between resilience and quarter-life crisis. Higher levels of resilience were associated with lower tendencies to experience QLC. Moreover, resilience was found to have a significant effect on QLC levels. These results highlight the protective role of resilience in coping with psychological challenges during early adulthood.
