Instilling the character of discipline in students is a fundamental aspect of forming a holistic Islamic personality. One of the efforts applied by Pondok Pesantren Baitul Qur’an Slogohimo Wonogiri wonogiri is through Qur’anic halaqah activities. Halaqah not only serves as a means of technical Qur’anic learning but also functions as a medium for fostering discipline through habitual practices and character formation. This study aims to describe the implementation of Qur’anic halaqah activities in enhancing students’ disciplinary character.
This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include the pesantren caregiver, halaqah supervisors (musyrif), and students. The data analysis technique is carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
The results of the study show that halaqah activities are carried out in a structured and continuous manner every day, with scheduled sessions for memorization submission (setoran), revision (muroja’ah), and memorization evaluation by the musyrif. Students are trained to be punctual, maintain their memorization well, and consistently follow the halaqah rules. This habituation fosters the growth of discipline in terms of time management, responsibility, and obedience to the pesantren’s regulations. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of Qur’anic halaqah has proven effective in enhancing students’ disciplinary character, in terms of worship behavior, social attitude, and personal conduct. The development of discipline is not only driven by external control but also emerges from spiritual awareness, the role of educators, and repeated habituation.
