Abstract
The implementation of the *Kurikulum Merdeka* requires teachers to adapt their professional performance in planning, executing, and evaluating instruction in accordance with the characteristics and needs of the students. Teacher performance is a crucial factor in determining the success of the *Kurikulum Merdeka* implementation, particularly in mathematics instruction, which demands pedagogical competence, subject matter mastery, and appropriate teaching strategies. Therefore, this study aims to describe and evaluate the performance of mathematics teachers regarding the implementation of the *Kurikulum Merdeka* at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo, utilizing the CIPP evaluation model.
This study employs a qualitative approach within an evaluative research framework. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants included mathematics teachers and school personnel involved in the *Kurikulum Merdeka* implementation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation to obtain credible and accountable data.
The research results indicate that regarding the *context* aspect, mathematics teachers have understood the Learning Outcomes (*Capaian Pembelajaran* or CP), Learning Objectives (*Tujuan Pembelajaran* or TP), and student characteristics as the basis for lesson planning. Regarding the *input* aspect, teacher performance is supported by training, principal support, and learning facilities and infrastructure, although challenges remain concerning internet connectivity and the suboptimal use of digital media. Regarding the *process* aspect, teachers have carried out instruction involving planning, classroom management, the use of methods and media, differentiated instruction, assessment, feedback provision, and active student engagement, although the communication of learning objectives has not been consistently performed. Regarding the "product" aspect, teacher performance positively impacts students' engagement, motivation, critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and learning outcomes.
