Abstract
ABSTRACT Samsiyah. Analysis of Parents' Motivation to Include Their Children in the Playgroup PAS Ar-Rahmah, Karangan Balong. Essay. Early Childhood Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Advisor 1 Dian Kristiana, M.Pd, Advisor 2 Dr. M. Fadlillah, M.Pd.I This study aims to describe the motivation of parents to include their children in the PG PAS Ar-Rahmah, Karangan Balong. The subjects of this study were parents and the head of the PG PAS Ar-Rahmah Karangan Balong. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the motivation of parents to enter their children into PG PAS Ar-Rahmah Karangan Balong was derived from intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is that parents understand the basic needs of their children by providing food before going to school and bringing drinking water as well as pocket money. Parents always deliver to school and make sure they have met the teacher at school. By going to school, parents hope that in the future they will become children who study their prayers, are obedient to worship, are diligent in reading the Koran, are good at memorizing short letters and prayers and Asmaul Husna, and also have basic knowledge of religion and general knowledge. The extrinsic motivation is because parents know that in PG PAS Ar-Rahmah the curriculum used claims to be in the PAS Baitul Quran Gontor curriculum which teaches more about religious studies, the infrastructure is quite adequate, education pays attention to children, and there are extra-curricular activities at the PG level. which in other institutions in the Balong sub-district do not hold.
